In this 21st century, e-learning has gained everyone attention and popularity due to the rapid growth in development and technology revolution. E-learning is available and offered in Malaysian universities. It is so flexibility where information is delivered via online for purposes of education, training or knowledge management.

According to the students perspective, e-learning can help the students to save money and time, especially to those students who drive the cars to campus. It can help to reduce their daily expenses such as toll fees and petrol car fees. Then, for the studies materials, they do not have to photostats or print it out as it is so costly and sometimes are quite thick. By the way, we can also help to save the environment. Moreover, it also help some students who from other states and stay at hostel. Then, they do not have to pay for rental, food and other utilities as it can reduce family burdens and money spent.

On the other hand, it can also reduce travel time from one destination to another destination. Some students are local people and some are from other states. Students who from other state, they can online learning from their house. Hence, they do not have to buy bus tickets early and travel long way to hostel. Sometimes may take one whole day to reach hostel which is tiring and time consuming. Then, parents may worry about their children safety where they have to stay far away from home.

Besides, they do not have to worry for being late to attend classes and finding seats. This is because e-learning provides flexibility which enables students to adjust time, location, content and speed of learning to fit their personal schedule. For those students who working as part-timers to gain more experience, they can online learning anytime and anywhere. Thus, they are able to manage their time well. They can also refer back to previous lectures without affecting the learning pace of other students.

Example of learning English through e-learning:

Instead, e-learning may also have drawbacks. Students who are poor, they cannot afford to own a computer with high-speed internet connection and some multimedia tools to support the services. Those are costly and increase family burdens. In additional, not every students are computer literate. For example, some poor students do not own a computer so they will have difficulties to access to Internet and deal with the hardwares and softwares. Thus, training is needed for the students. Besides, there is a potential problem where students lack of interaction with instructors and public. This will reduce students’ verbal skills and communicating skills. Even sometimes there are some problems that cannot be solved via online. For instance, mathematical problems that required working and steps as solutions. So it is very hard to be showed and taught via online.

Nevertheless, some students prefer traditional classroom training. This is because they feel that the ability to understand in traditional classroom training is higher compared to e-learning. By using e-learning, they may also face some problems due to interruption of internet connections such as disconnection. Another potential problem that most worrying people is students may become more lazy and less motivated. This is because everything is done electronically and lack of face-to-face communication. Thus, misunderstanding may arise between students and lecturers.

In a nutshell, e-learning is useful and benefiting which can enhance the quality of teaching methods and provide a good service for the students. At the same time, e-learning does have some drawbacks. However, people still eager to know the potentials of balancing the benefits and drawbacks of e-learning. It depends on individuals learning style that suitable them.

A review on a post on Legal from My E-Commerce blog

After viewing the post, "new rules for cyber cafes soon", from "my E-commerce blog", I found the new rules have been established for Cyber Cafes. Hereby I have some brief comments regarding the rules and regulations set by government in order to control these kind of businesses.

Before that, I would like to restate the rules and regulations set by our government. First of all, the Cyber Cafes should operate till midnight daily. Second, the premises must use tinted glasses to allow people to see through inside from outside. Third, the premises can only be allowed to operate at the ground floor. Fourth, those under 12 years old must be accompanied by their guardian or parents and can only enter in the premises area till 10pm. Fifth, the Cyber Cafes are prohibited from providing gaming activities, gambling, pornography, music and publications with negative element. Sixth, the Cyber Cafes are not allowed to sell cigarettes and alcohol. Lastly, Cyber Cafes have to record the entry and departure time of the patrons.

Although these rules and regulations have been established by government, I do not think that the rules will be followed by the owners of Cyber Cafes. This is because from my observation, I had been seen many Cyber Cafes, that do not close their operation at mid night. besides, the Cyber Cafes I had enter before also do not close their operation during mid night. This evidence can be shown in Bandar Sungai Long here, all the Cyber Cafes open 24 hours and still got a lot of teenager stay inside there atfer mid night. Even though the police are patrolling all along, they do not ask the owners of those Cyber Cafes to close their operation.

For the second rules set by the government, the premises have to use tinted glasses and located at ground floor. As what I had seen before, many Cyber Cafes in difference geographical area use tinted glasses and located at ground floor.

However, the government has establishing the rules, not to let children below the age of 12 enter the Cyber Cafes without parent accompanying them. In fact, I never seen this rules is follow by every Cyber Cafes because I saw many children who below the age of 12 at Cyber Cafes there alone. This will give negative impact to children.

Another rule is book log to record the entry and time of the patrons. The owner feels that it is unnecessary to record on every people who come into the cafe. Even if they do so, this will not guarantee the people will fill up details correctly. They may give false name and identification.

One of the rules are prohibited from providing a gaming activities but in fact, I have seen many of the cyber cafes were major in gaming purposes. From my observation towards those cyber cafes, many people go there is for playing games instead of studying. in addition, the worst thing that I even saw is that they did sell cigarettes to the customers inside the premises.

In conclusion, even though new rules have been established to restrict the cyber cafes' operation, there were majority of them do not stick to the rules as they wanted to make more profit. Therefore, the government should give some punishment to the owners of the cyber cafes who does not complied with the rules. For instance, compound should be given to the owner who does not follow the rules and their license should be terminated. So that they could not operate their business again in future.

In this case, card holders will not run into debts and no interests will be charged. This is because you are not borrowing money from banks or other financial instituions. This is the beauty of prepaid cash card.

Application of pre-paid cash card for consumers:-
  • Convenient- The users can shop anywhere as long as the card is accepted by the retailers. Besides, users can use to pay fuel at the patrol station, purchase by phone, and shop on the Internet.

A review on a post on e-tailing from My E-Commerce blog.

Just finished reading on a post titled, OpenTable.com - Online restaurant reservations in e-Tailing from My E-commerce blog. It is about a restaurant which provides an online booking system to their customers. This system is very convenience for the customers and the most important is free of charge. If you want to cancel the reservation, you can just “one-click” for cancellation. This system also allowed customers to leave important messages to restaurant in his or her reservation.

If this e-commerce business model can be implemented in Malaysia especially for high-end restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, I’m strongly agree because it is really convenience to Malaysians. As you know, during peak seasons or special days like Mothers’ day or Valentine's Day, all the restaurants are full with customers and hardly to find seats. For those special days, you may need to have early booking and it is not 100% confirm that you will get a place. Sometimes, it is due to the mistake done by the reception.

If the online restaurant reservations system is used in the high-end restaurants, it can attract more customers and able to enhance their services. Besides, this system can solve businessmen problems. For an example, you are working in the office and plan to bring family out for dinner, you just have to visit the website and follow few steps to complete the application, then the restaurant will reserve a place for you. Thus, you wouldn’t have to worry and no need to call to the restaurant and wait for the reception to check manually for you whether the seats have reserved. It also can avoid the mistake and seats problem such as you have reserved the seats earlier but the reception said no. It is because manually done, sometimes mistakes may occur. In order to avoid those problems, Malaysia can implement this system. I believe that Malaysians will support as nowadays technology replaced the manual and the system is free of charge. You do not need to waste your time and money to call the restaurant for reservation.

Since people are busy working and rushing with the time, online booking system is suitable to implement in Malaysia and restaurants do not have to worry of losing the customers. If the reservation can be made via online, everything will be easy and attract many people to online booking. This will become a greatl e-commerce business model. It is so convenience and ease to everyone, so I will support this system to be implemented in Malaysia and I believe that it will success in Malaysia.

I’m sure everyone out there know what is credit card. Everyone wishes to own a credit card or more in their hand. Basically, a credit card is a way of payment by using a plastic card. It is issued to the customers to make their payment after a credit card application has been made and approved by authorities. Then the issuer will lend out the money to the credit card holder. After that, the customer can start to buy their lovely things at any outlets on credit up to the limit of credit.

Customers can also use credit cards to enjoy credit card online facilities. It is easy to use, faster than actual procedures of cash transactions and convenient. Examples of online websites that provide credit card payment method are Amazon, eBay, AirAsia and etc. In addition, customers can earn points by using the credit cards for exchanging rewards.

Causes of credit card debts:

  • Excessive spending: One of the most common causes and it happened to everyone who owned the credit card. Consumers tend to buy everything with credit cards whether it is necessary or unnecessary needs. This is because they do not have to carry so much money in their pocket. Moreover, consumers can buy expensive things immediately such as mp3 player, plasma television, computer, online songs and etc.
  • Do not save funds into savings account: Most of the consumers do not save funds into their savings account and this will cause the consumers to use their credit cards whenever they like including emergency expenses. Unexpectedly, consumers are using the credit cards to pay for all the transactions and increase credit card debts.
  • Late payment for monthly credit card bills: Another common cause that happened to credit card holders. Some consumers use credit cards as their payment method for every transaction but they may sometimes forget that the items they purchased are on credit. Unfortunately, some consumers think that they have much money to shop by using their credit cards and often using it. It will make the consumers to spend more than their monthly income. This will lead to credit card debts and slowly become a habit to use credit card to make payment.

  • Loss of employment: Thousands of people will become unemployed each day and will have difficulty in managing money because unable to find a secure job, especially credit card holders are in credit card debts. They will have difficulties to pay for the debts as they need to spend on montly expenses too.

Preventions for credit card debts:
