The government must ensure that citizens’ personal data are secured and protected included financial and transactional data. Besides, government must have a strong security systems for electronic communications which is reliable, stable and up-to-date. So that citizens do not have to worry and put 100% of trust on e-government.

Awareness.

Government can do some advertisements and launch some events or programs in schools, colleges universities and at different places and states. By doing this, it can increase citizens’ knowledge and awareness of e-government site.

Informative.

Government must ensure that the content is informative and usefulness to citizens. So that they can understand its purposes and take it seriously. The most important is the content must be free from errors. Some guidance should be provided and must make it simple as some citizens are not computer literate.

Ease to use.

The government must ensure that the design for e-government is simple and nice which can acceptable by all citizens. The ability of accessing and performing tasks must be quick, efficient and effectiveness in order to satisfy customers satisfaction.

In this 21^st century, e-learning has gained everyone attention and popularity due to the rapid growth in development and technology revolution. E-learning is available and offered in Malaysian universities. It is so flexibility where information is delivered via online for purposes of education, training or knowledge management.

According to the students perspective, e-learning can help the students to save money and time, especially to those students who drive the cars to campus. It can help to reduce their daily expenses such as toll fees and petrol car fees. Then, for the studies materials, they do not have to photostats or print it out as it is so costly and sometimes are quite thick. By the way, we can also help to save the environment. Instead, e-learning may also have drawbacks. Students who are poor, they cannot afford to own a computer with high-speed internet connection and some multimedia tools to support the services. For example, some poor students do not own a computer so they will have difficulties to access to Internet and deal with the hardwares and softwares. Thus, training is needed for the students. After viewing the post, "new rules for cyber cafes soon", from "my E-commerce blog", I found the new rules have been established for Cyber Cafes. Hereby I have some brief comments regarding the rules and regulations set by government in order to control these kind of businesses.

Before that, I would like to restate the rules and regulations set by our government. First of all, the Cyber Cafes should operate till midnight daily. Second, the premises must use tinted glasses to allow people to see through inside from outside. Third, the premises can only be allowed to operate at the ground floor. Fourth, those under 12 years old must be accompanied by their guardian or parents and can only enter in the premises area till 10pm. Fifth, the Cyber Cafes are prohibited from providing gaming activities, gambling, pornography, music and publications with negative element. Sixth, the Cyber Cafes are not allowed to sell cigarettes and alcohol. Lastly, Cyber Cafes have to record the entry and departure time of the patrons.

Although these rules and regulations have been established by government, I do not think that the rules will be followed by the owners of Cyber Cafes. This is because from my observation, I had been seen many Cyber Cafes, that do not close their operation at mid night. besides, the Cyber Cafes I had enter before also do not close their operation during mid night. This evidence can be shown in Bandar Sungai Long here, all the Cyber Cafes open 24 hours and still got a lot of teenager stay inside there atfer mid night. Even though the police are patrolling all along, they do not ask the owners of those Cyber Cafes to close their operation.

For the second rules set by the government, the premises have to use tinted glasses and located at ground floor. As what I had seen before, many Cyber Cafes in difference geographical area use tinted glasses and located at ground floor.

However, the government has establishing the rules, not to let children below the age of 12 enter the Cyber Cafes without parent accompanying them. In fact, I never seen this rules is follow by every Cyber Cafes because I saw many children who below the age of 12 at Cyber Cafes there alone. This will give negative impact to children.

Another rule is book log to record the entry and time of the patrons. The owner feels that it is unnecessary to record on every people who come into the cafe. Even if they do so, this will not guarantee the people will fill up details correctly. They may give false name and identification.

One of the rules are prohibited from providing a gaming activities but in fact, I have seen many of the cyber cafes were major in gaming purposes. From my observation towards those cyber cafes, many people go there is for playing games instead of studying. in addition, the worst thing that I even saw is that they did sell cigarettes to the customers inside the premises.

In conclusion, even though new rules have been established to restrict the cyber cafes' operation, there were majority of them do not stick to the rules as they wanted to make more profit. Therefore, the government should give some punishment to the owners of the cyber cafes who does not complied with the rules. For instance, compound should be given to the owner who does not follow the rules and their license should be terminated. So that they could not operate their business again in future.

Just finished reading on a post titled, OpenTable.com - Online restaurant reservations in e-Tailing from My E-commerce blog. It is about a restaurant which provides an online booking system to their customers. This system is very convenience for the customers and the most important is free of charge. If you want to cancel the reservation, you can just “one-click” for cancellation. This system also allowed customers to leave important messages to restaurant in his or her reservation.

If this e-commerce business model can be implemented in Malaysia especially for high-end restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, I’m strongly agree because it is really convenience to Malaysians. As you know, during peak seasons or special days like Mothers’ day or Valentine's Day, all the restaurants are full with customers and hardly to find seats. For those special days, you may need to have early booking and it is not 100% confirm that you will get a place. Sometimes, it is due to the mistake done by the reception.

Favourite passwords used online

After reading the post, "Favourite password used online" on my E-Commerce blog, http://ecommerze.blogspot.com/search/label/Internet%20Security,I had a brief idea on how to choose a better protection password.

First of all, let me summarize the post. It is about a survey on 28000 passwords from a popular website. According to the survey, 16% of the users choose to use their own name, spouse's name or child's as their password while 14% of them like to use the numbers that are easy and nice to remember such as "1234" or "12345678". There are also 4% of them prefer to use the words like " password" or "password1" as their password. Other than that, password usually used by the users are like "qwerty" or "iloveu".

This is not a surprise for me after I knew these series of passwords as these are common and everyone is still doing it now. As we all know, most of the people around us choose these combination as passwords because they are easy to type and remember. Thus, we will always keep ourselves easy to access to our data.

But, is that really a good thing for us? Although it is easy to remember, it gives an opportunity to the online hacker to hack into our account as well as manipulate our information. In addition, if your password is made up of your name, date of birth or IC number, people who close to you or know you well will easily hack into your account and access your account.

Is there any solution from being hacked easily?? Yes, there is. One of the solution posted in My E-Commerce blog is to choose a password that is longer than 8 characters with one capital letter and one symbol. It is perfectly good solution. Then the hacker has trouble to figure out the password.

Unfortunately, there is another bad side. A long password with capital letter and symbols, you will easily forgot the password. Let have an example, if a person who have different password for different website access and the password is long, do you think that he can remember all the password? For sure, it is hard to remember all the password and have difficulty in accessing the account. In spite, he may need to write down all the passwords.

For me, I feel that the password that we choose should not have any important meaning or related to you. In such case, no one will know your password even the people who close to you. Then, they can't hack into your account.

In short, a password is a secret word or a string of characters used for authentication so it is very sensitive. Everyone is remind to set a password wisely and keep it as a secret. This is all depends on the users how they use and keep the passwords.

It is essential for the computer users to know the term of phishing. Phishing refers to a person or a group of cyber-criminals who create an imitation or a copy of an existing legitimate Web Page to trick users into providing sensitive personal information such as personal IDs, passwords, card numbers and PINs.

Phishing is a fraudulent attempt via email and done it by spamming which means send million of emails to a huge target population with one mouse click. Normally the phishers will include upsetting or exciting statements in the email so that the recipients will react immediately without thinking. This is the way to increase the number of responses.

Typically, the user will receive phishing email from well known business or organization such as Internet service provider (ISP), bank, online payment service or even a government agency.

Following are the few examples of phishing:

EBay Phishing
A scammer sends out a million of emails to his email list as his first step. Once the end user receives the email and click on the link in the email, the end user will be taken to a site which is look like eBay designed by the scammer. The end user will attempt to login. Unfortunately, the scammer has get the username and password from the end user. Besides that, the scammer may also claim to be eBay or PayPal and request username and password. Usually the victims are novice users.

HSBC Bank Phishing
The customer received the email claiming that the customer's account has been suspended. If the customer want to prevent his account from being suspended, he is required to verify some information by clicking on the link and then verify it. Without knowing, the information has been send to the scammer.

Coca-cola Phishing
The scammer disguised popular commercial company’s name and send email with attachment to the recipient saying that the recipient has won the prize. In order to claim the prize, recipient is requires to provide personal information using a free Yahoo! email address.

IRS Tax Refund Phishing Scam
An email sent to recipient claiming that there is a tax refund and eligible to receive this particular amount. Therefore, recipient has to click on the link in the email and complete the form. By filling up the form, you will be refunded within 12 days. Actually, all this things are fake and false link.

Hotmail Phishing
Hotmail phishing emails are circulating among Hotmail users. The email stated that you have to submit your login information via email or click on the link or else they will close down all unused accounts. After following the instructions, your account will not be interrupted and back to normal. However, Hotmail does not ask for login information.

Following are some basic prevetion methods to avoid being phished:

Do not trust the email especially regarding personal financial information. Delete it immediately from your inbox or check and report directly to the bank or the company about the email that you have received.

Do not call the number or click on the link given in the email. Log into your online accounts regularly to ensure that all transactions are legitimate conducted.

Never fill up the form in the email messages which is ask for personal financial information. Bank companies will never ask for that.

Roll the mouse over the link and see if it matches what appears in the email. If there is a discrepency, do not click on the link.

Use Web Browser to visit secure website when submitting credit card or other sensitive information.

Check the web address in the browers address bar that showing “https://” rather than “http://”. The ‘s’ here means secure. Then, a padlock icon will appear in the bottom right corner of the browser window.

Nowadays, E-commerce had become so popular in our life. Most of us know about e-commerce is through online shopping. Online shopping had growth rapidly in the E-commerce society as it is so convenience for us as we just need to stay at home online, click few buttons and paying it by credit cards or other payment methods. Then, the goods will be sent to our house. It is convenient and useful for us as we need not rushing here and there to purchase the things that we want. Even we can buy things that are not available in our country. But why E-commerce still fails and what are the causes??

Let us take an example of Jeans Online. “Why people do not buy the jeans online?” if you want to buy a jeans will you buy online? As for me, I will not buy it because I can’t try it on and can’t check the quality of fabric. Although it is still a “real” business, unfortunately it is unlike other businesses. People will have lack confidences to purchase a jeans compare with buying a book online. Let take another example of amazon.com which selling books online. Amazon.com has succeeded all the way as the book is different from the Jeans. You can buy a book when the book title is interested or useful but Jeans cannot. There will need a high startup cost when a company start to do online business. However, what is the most purpose of doing business? However, the consumers also wouldn’t buy an expensive good from online shopping, you know why? This is due to the reason if the goods are expensive, why I want to buy online? To get a right tool in place to allow you to sell the products are expensive and ridiculously hard. Next on failure of E-commerce are poor customer services. If you do not serve your customer well this can make your E-commerce business failed. The customers will not visit your website again. This is because if the customer services of online shopping is poor then why I need use it? People will choose to buy through physical shopping as it will be better and more satisfy.

Once must make sure the website is as secure as possible E-commerce must have sufficient protection on the customer’s credit card information as it is vital enough. My hobbies are surfing the net, play badminton with younger brother during weekend and play online games when I am free. Personally I like to surf net at home because I can listen to musics and watch movies as loud as I can but I am not deaf. It is just to make the surrounding feel good.

Besides that, I like to collect nice, beautiful and cute pictures and wallpaper from the websites that I have visited. Those pictures sometimes can help me to create banners, wallpaper and animated pictures. I can use them as signature in forum, upload in Friendster to share with friends or upload in Photobucket.

Facebook allow me to add friends, send them messages, update my personal profile to notify friends about myself, express my feelings, share pictures, play games and so on. Then, I will check and read my mails frequently that my friends and my relatives forward to me in Hotmail and Gmail. Other than checking mails, I also subscribes to toxel.com and k-popped.com via Really Simple Syndication (RSS) which provides timely updates from my favoured websites. RSS can aggregate feeds from many sites into one place and this benefits me. Amazing right? Moreover, I like to visit Toxel.com. It is a blog about design, inspiration and technology. In that blog, there are many creative and cute design. For examples, soap designs, iPhones cases designs, creative cupcakes and etc. This is the reason why Toxel.com can attract me. I am Fong Kin Wai, such a loney person come from ipoh to study here, Utar, Bandar Sg. Long. Currently, I am pursuing in Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Accounting. I am 21 years old this year and have 5 siblings including me. Travelling is part of my interest because I can travel to many countries to enjoy beautiful places. Besides that, I can learn their cultures and languages. I like Japan country very much since I was a little child. Of course, I may plan to travel japan in the future. Therefore, I have created my own Japanese name, "Kakaroto Tokshiwa Fong". The reasons why i like there is because of the beautiful environment there. Additional to this, i never seen shopping centre in Japan as i never go there before.

My hobby is playing basketball. I like to play basketball with my friends every evening. Besides, I like to play badminton too. I quit playing badminton when I was 12. This is because I found that the basketball is much more interesting compared to badminton. Hi, my name is Hui Wen or you can call me “mosquito” as well. This is because by adding one more word behind my name then it will pronounce in Chinese as “wenzi” which means mosquito. I like to talk, and I am a very active person. It was just as noisy as a mosquito. Thus, all my friends called me “mosquito”. I was born at Johor Bahru in 1988 and I stayed there for 13 years. After that I moved to Pahang with my parents. And now I stay with my friend, Pauline in Sungai Long. I have 1 older brother who works in Singapore as a junior Italy Chef, while my mother and youngest brother are still staying at Pahang now. My mum is inheriting my father’s business. My father passed away when I was 14 years old. Since that, my mummy took my daddy part as well. She is a hardy woman, and she gives the best things and love to us. I like to draw since I was a little child, maybe around 3 to 4 years old. The reason I think is because I was the only son in my family and lack of same age friends during my childhood. I am expertise in black and white drawing but poor in coloring. I have won some awards in drawing contest during my primary and secondary school time. The earliest drawing award I won is in 1992, and I was 5 years old only. It was an open drawing contest for children in Kuala Lumpur. I still remember that I was scared and my mum accompanies me to complete my drawing in the hall. It was such a wonderful memory for me. I have a dream to become an artist or comic author since my childhood.

Hi, I am Kae Wen. I am glad to have this opportunity to introduce myself here. Actually, this is the first time for me to have a blog related to E- Commerce and I hope that through this blog my friends who view the blog will get to know more about E- Commerce.

I come from Ipoh, Perak but had stayed at KL for few years as I was studying at UTAR Sg. Long now. I am a undergraduate student of Bachelor of Commerce (HONS) Accounting. Actually I don't like accounting, but since my mum wanted me so much to be an accountant, I am just follow what she wants. Do you think that I am obedient?? Or you think that I am stupid?? Maybe is due to this reason, I need to put more and more effort than other to study this accounting course. I had think about to give up but I can't since I don't want my beloved daddy and mummy to be disappointed. Thus, I face more stress than others.

What will you do when you feel stress?? Different people sure have their own way. For me, when I feel stress I will go shopping. I like to buy shoes especially high heel shoes. Therefore, my house and my car are full of shoes with different colour and different patterns. The big winner for this is sure my mum. Why?? Although I like buy shoes, I seldom wear it. I will just give them to my mum.

During my free time, I will surf the net. Since I am now staying at KL, a big city far away from my hometown, it is hard for me to keep connected with my old school friends. Therefore, I always use MSN to keep connected with them. Besides, I will surf the net to search for latest song and movie to entertain myself. I will also surf the net to search the information that I need.

There are several website that I usually visit. They are Friendster.com, Google, Hotmail.com, theStar.com as well as Wretch.cc/blog. I visit these website to search for information, keep myself connected with friends, making new friends, check mail, write blog as well as entertain myself with the online games and online song.

Sometimes, when I was free, I will log in to viwawa.com to play online games. In there, I can play online games with other and relax myself.

Among these website, I like Wretch most as I can have my own blog there, written down my story, express my feeling and share all these with others. For me, I feel that words is the best way to express my feeling. Thus, I like writing blog. I can also get to know my friends' feeling and story from there.
